Bruce Gassman

Guest Artist & Clinician

Bruce hails from New Jersey where he began studying the accordion at age nine.  In 2007 Bruce returned to the accordion after 15 years and says he was uncertain how the music he grew up with would be accepted on the accordion.  As he says, that was music from the 60’s, and now he is in his 60’s  -- the time is right!  In two short years his playing has made him nationally known.

Since his debut appearance in Las Vegas last year, he has performed in 2010 at the AAA Festival in Hershey, PA, the ATG 70th Anniversary Celebration in Santa Clara, CA, as well as the National Accordion Convention held in Dallas, TX.  Bruce has just completed his 2011 year long  tour from Florida to Idaho. We welcome Bruce back to Las Vegas!

Bruce Gassman has released his first solo CD, ‘Classic Rock Accordion 2 Bruce’ and he will be performing music from his new CD at the Las Vegas International Accordion Convention.  When asked about the music, Bruce said; “This is the music I grew up with and love to listen to and play, and it appears that the timing is right for a child of the 60’s, in his 60’s, playing 60’s music!!! I wanted to capture the same feel and emotion of a live performance, even though it was recorded in a studio. So there are no tricks and no overdubs; just two hands and one accordion.”

Be sure to check out the classes Bruce will be teaching.  If you are into Rock n' Roll, be there and see how this 60's Rock musician brings the accordion alive.  You can also hear Bruce on the main stage Monday evening!
